It was intended to have play readings once a month on the first Tuesday of the month. However, for the moment, they seem to be in abeyance. We'll be reviewing the situation in due course.
Different venues may be used so see below for further details. These are intended to be social affairs with different people choosing the plays to read, with everyone bringing refreshments! Everyone is welcome, members and newcomers!
Our near neighbours, the Ewhurst Player, are putting on a pantomime. Oh yes they are! Click for details.
Pantomime horse racing at the Royal Oak Rusper. The 1st race is at 2.30pm. Steve Matim is the Bookie. Perhaps come for lunch first at the Oak. There is also a farmers market and a tug of war with a childrens pull. All proceeds will be going to St Catherines Hospice. Steve hopes to see you there. For those who went last year everyone enjoyed it and it was for a good cause.
The health club based at the Hayley Conference Centre at the rear of the Wootton Hatch, Wootton is having a quiz night Teams are of up to 6 people and it is £10 a head which will include buffet food from the conference centre. There will be a bar as well. Money is required up front, so if you are interested let Sally know and we'll see if we can get a group or two together.
Clive Bordoli is appearing in "The Hound of the Baskervilles", adapted and dramatised by Tim Kelly from the classic Sherlock Holmes story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is brought to the stage of the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill, by the St Marks Players with assistance from RATS (Reigate Amateur Theatrical Society). Performances start at 8pm. Tickets priced at £12 (concessions available) can be obtained from the Harlequin box office 01737 765547 or Harlequin Theatre website. A little more detail here.
Annie and Syvie are holding a Barbeque at Annie's house in North Holmwood. It will be a case of bring a bottle and a little bit of meat or salad/pud along which they will sort out nearer the time.
Our AGM will start at 8:00pm prompt on Tuesday 21st July 2009 at the Cricket Pavilion, Ockley. There will also be a BBQ. More information here.
An event run by the Ockley Society called the Cricket Sevens. This is where we have 8 teams drawn up from the village made up of non cricketers (except for one player per team) AND JUST HAVE A FUN GAME OF CRICKET ON THE Green set with Leith Hill in the background. This is a socialable community event and weather permitting is a nice day to meet other people. Just come along and watch if you want. There is homemade refreshments sandwiches, cakes and ploughmans etc Tea, coffee and squash A fun event for all the family. Also the bar is open at the cricket pavillion so do come along and support it and have a nice socialable time as well. This runs from 10am onwards usually till about 5pm for the prize giving.
The Ockley Society Quiz. Doors open at 7.30pm for an prompt 8 o'clock start. Teams of six at £48 per team, that's £8 a head to include a meal as well. Fun night to be had by all. I have taken the liberty of reserving the Drama two tables so we need 12 people in all. Should there be a greater demand we could book another table.
